Purpose

The 健康信息管理 (HIM) degree program is an CAHIIM  (Commission on 认证 for Health Informatics and Information Management Education) accredited program that provides students the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills required to perform a variety of specialized duties in a non-clinical, 联合医疗保健机构. 毕业生可能会寻求门诊医疗编码员的职位, 健康信息专家, 收入周期专家和医疗办公室经理.

  • Graduates of the 健康信息管理 program are eligible to sit for the national certification exam, 通过AHIMA获得注册卫生信息技术员(RHIT).

Students entering the HIM program must meet the college’s general admissions requirements, 以及特定项目的入学要求. 特定项目的入学要求包括:

  • Completion of the 健康信息管理 Application for Admission packet, including a letter of intent and criminal background check and drug screening.

  • Students may receive college credit for verified on-the-job experience.
  • Courses taken out of suggested sequence must have the approval of the program advisor.

The 健康信息管理 Program has clinical affiliation agreements with clinical agencies to ensure student safety and health information privacy and security. HIM students are required to complete a 40-hour internship for the 健康信息管理 program. Healthcare organizations have specific requirements for acceptance into internship and students must comply with these contractual requirements. 另外,  students may be required to successfully complete an orientation program prior to participating in activities at any clinical facility. Clinical facilities may require a criminal background check and drug screen clearance as a condition for student placement. Immunizations must also be current and a COVID 19 and flu vaccine (or a valid exemption form) may be required.  一般指引如下:

  • Clinical agencies reserve the right to dismiss a student from their agency at any time with due cause. 除非有紧急情况，否则要提前通知
